THE SPACES
Performance Hall
41’x 47’
Capacity: Depending on the configuration, the Performance Hall has a 200-person capacity accommodating 90-144 seated on risers. It is also ideal for rehearsing for a larger stage. The flexibility of seating (modular and removable) provides great versatility.
Unleash your creativity in this electrifying and versatile space equipped with semi-sprung hardwood floors, a large tech booth and lighting grid, and a Concert Grand 290 Imperial piano.

- Risers and seats up to 144
- Well-equipped sound, lighting, and projections available
- Lobby with bar/concession & box office to cater to rehearsals, performances, and events.
- Potential support spaces for performances include ABC Residents Association Studio, Stanley Shalom Zielony Green Room and The Salon.
- All the risers and seats can be cleared for 1,965 square feet of playing space for rehearsals
The ABC Residents Association Rehearsal Studio

Multi-Purpose Functionality: The ABC Residents Association Studio can function as a rehearsal room (ideal for workshops, music rehearsals, table work, smaller stagings/smaller cast rehearsals, coaching room, or meeting space) or performance support space (dressing rooms & warm-up space). It also features folding tables and chairs, a fully accessible toilet and shower as well as a modest sound system for playback.

- Can be partitioned with pipe and drape to support 2-3 private dressing spaces.
- Host small receptions for 40-50.
- Ideal space for setting up catering, potentially complemented by the Stanley Shalom Zielony Green Room.
Stanley Shalom Zielony Green Room
The Stanley Shalom Zielony Green Room provides comfort and convenience. Featuring a stocked kitchenette, this peaceful space offers a haven of tranquillity for artists & special guests, with direct access to the vibrant energy of the ABC Residents Association Rehearsal Studio and the bustling heart of the Anne-Marie Applin Lobby.
Amenities: Comfortable seating for 5-10 with space for more standing, a kitchenette with sink, microwave, and fridge. Audio can be routed from The Nancy & Ed Jackman Theatre for performers or speakers waiting to enter.
Support Space
- Book as part of an event or performance package as a conventional green room.
- For catered events, the Theatre would host the event, the ABC Residents Association Studio would host catering, and the Green Room could be used for additional catering or as a space for VIP guests, artists and/or organizers.
Anne-Marie Applin Lobby
Leading from the main entrance of the Performing Arts Underground, the Anne-Marie Applin Lobby is a captivating space where art and function seamlessly converge.
Adorned with a mesmerizing mural by acclaimed Canadian artist Madison van Rijn, the lobby features a dedicated bar, ensuring refreshments are always within reach.
The versatile Richard Carter Box Office effortlessly transitions into a second bar or a convenient guest check-in area, enhancing the overall guest experience.
The Salon
The Salon provides the perfect setting for productive brainstorming sessions and creative collaborations. Centralized around an 8-seater table and tucked into a private corner, this inviting space fosters a sense of intimacy and focused conversation. Equipped with a washer/dryer, it can also be used as a wardrobe room for theatrical performances.
The small ancillary room is a space ideal for private meetings, event staff headquarters, stage management, wardrobe/fitting room, event storage, or coat check.
Amenities: seating around a folding table for 6-8, lockable.
Nightwood Theatre and Tapestry Opera Offices
Tucked away beyond the Stanley Shalom Zielony Green Room, you’ll find the sleek and modern offices of Nightwood Theatre and Tapestry Opera. This open-concept layout provides a dynamic and inspiring workspace, offering a much-needed home base for these innovative organizations to flourish.

Supporting Canadian Arts
Nancy & Ed Jackman Performance Centre’s mandate, led by Tapestry Opera and Nightwood Theatre, is to support the performing arts in Toronto. Performing arts rentals are subsidized by a small percentage of commercial rentals as well as through support for the building of the space by the City of Toronto, Ontario, Heritage Canada and visionary donors. We look forward to providing a beautiful new and vibrant space in Toronto’s arts ecology.
