Witness the tragic love story between Dido, Queen of Carthage, and the Trojan hero Aeneas. Fresh from the fall of Troy, Aeneas seeks refuge in Dido’s flourishing kingdom. A spark ignites between them, promising a future of love and prosperity. But fate intervenes in the form of vengeful sorceresses, tearing their idyllic world apart.
Experience Purcell’s hauntingly beautiful score, filled with iconic arias and spirited choruses. Our talented young artists, under the direction of Stéphane Mayer and Chelsea Woolley, bring energy and passion to this timeless tale of love, power, and duty.
Join the first-ever cohort of 16 singers in the Young Artist Studio and a chamber orchestra of youth musicians from Unionville Arts for an unforgettable evening of music and drama as we launch our premiere season with this captivating production.
Dido and Aeneas is a perfect introduction to opera for all ages and a must-see for seasoned opera lovers.
